The Tree Skirt....that took FOREVER!

This pinterest idea came from a PIN...and boy did it look easy....it's NOT. The hardest part was finding material. I have no idea what kind of material the pinner used...but it was tough to duplicate. I went with a shiny silver material for mine.
I used a red tree skirt from walmart that I bought for $5. See the PIN that has a link above for all of the directions. It actually took me a few weeks to complete this because it hurt my back so bad to bend over for that long!

This is what it looked like when I finished it.

HAPPY PINNING!

Tattle Tales- Our Elf on the Shelf

My sister has been having a BLAST wih their Elf on the Shelf. The kids named him Tattle because he tattles to Santa when they're bad! lol
Last night my sister dressed Tattle in the Justin Bieber doll clothes and stole JB's guitar! She also gave him some lovely companions to listen to him sing the new "Mistletoe" songs. Preslie was less than impressed with this when she woke up, she said ""UGH! Mom, he's making fun of Justin Bieber! That's not funny!"

It's funny to us!! If your kiddo has a Bieber doll, be sure to set your Elf up for success with the ladies lol :D

Cheap Jewelry Cabinet

Excuse my crazy towels lol. I have a very tall closet in my bathroom that I use to store towels in. Until yesterday, I had all of my jewelry cluttering my bathroom counter and getting all tangled together.
SO for a quick fix I bought some super cheap plastic shower hooks from Walmart ($2 per pack of 12) and hung them from the racks in my bathroom closet- TA DA- cheap/easy fix!

And there you have it! A fast, cheap, easy way to store jewelry!

Gavin DeGraw and the Side Ponytail

Yesterday we had the chance to meet Gavin DeGraw after his Sound Check Party/Meet and Greet and before his show with Carolina Liar and David Cook. I wanted to try something different with my makeup and hair...so of course I went straight to Pinterest!! I found a really cute 'pin' of a side ponytail and while mine didn't turn out quite like hers...it still looked great and held better than I thought it would! :)

On an unrelated note, Gavin was a very sweet guy and we had a blast chatting with him (again...we've met him before)! The show was phenomenal!
Until we meet again....
and we will.
LOL

For the Lazy Crafty Christmas Wrapper...

I find myself wanting to wrap the gifts that I already have...but not having time to complete the bows and cut out letters right away. So, I went to Hobby Lobby and got this cute little set of stamps for $6 and the red ink pad for $1 and I just stamp the names on the back of the presents! Genius! :)

Pin #2 (Kind of) Cheaper Way to Wrap Christmas Gifts

I saw a pin on Pinterest similar to this. Theirs looked harder and I wanted to find a way to simplify it.
Here's the PIN.
What I did was buy plain brown shipping paper (found in the shipping department of any big name stores). It was about $4.50 at Target, but the roll is HUGE! Wrapping gifts in the brown paper instead of expensive wrapping paper will save you $$!! After that, I took some scrap paper that I had left over from last Christmas (or you can buy a small roll) and I freehanded a letter by pulling up a font I liked onto the computer in Microsoft Word. I'm NOT a crafty person, so if I can do it you can do it! I cut it out and glued it to the package. I also bought some inexpensive ribbon (they didn't have Christmas ribbon out yet, so I had to settle for this boring one). I wrapped it around, tied it in a knot, then did two bunny ears and tied it again...then with the leftover pieces I made two more bunny ears and tied it again...and it made this bow. This is my first experience tying a bow, so I hope I get better at it lol

And TA-DA, a cheaper (and cuter) way to wrap gifts! :)
This is the other package I did. Both are Lacey's so I'm going to use the same paper for each person (Each of the kids will have their own design, etc.). I just have to wait for the pretty ribbon to come out so I can tie this one up and be done with it!

Pin #1 Mexican Lasagna

It's hard being married to a Chef sometimes...they are very hard to impress lol. Last night I presented this pin to him and told him I wanted to make it for dinner! We added ground beef and extra layers to the recipe (and omitted spinach) and it was DELISH!! We loved it!

Here's the PIN!
Here's the RECIPE (we added beef and more layers to ours and omitted the spinach)!
